Jeanne Adams, founder of Mr. Light & Associates, Inc.

I met Kathleen Sullivan near the beginning of my healing as a ritual abuse survivor.  We connected through PARC-VRAMC [now known as NAFF]. It was early in the survivor movement, but Kathleen was already there reaching out to others and sharing her knowledge of recovery issues. I purchased one of [PARC-VRAMC's] books, Lessons We Have Learned: A Survival Guide, and found it full of valuable information. She told me about her living memorial garden to honor the dead and comfort those who had survived.  I was able to see some of the gardens, walkways and monuments in her newsletters and on her website.

When I considered starting my own non-profit organization, it was Kathleen who pointed me in the right direction and assured me I could succeed.  With determination, I found my way through the stacks of government forms.  Kathleen has remained a courageous and outspoken advocate to this day.  She is an example of strength and fortitude.  I wish her much success with her new book.  She has earned that success.  May her book be a means to educate the public and assist survivors around the world.

Laurel Johnson - Midwest Book Review

In 1955, the author of Unshackled was born into a life that few readers can imagine. There are scoffers who will see this chronicle as fiction rather than fact. For that assumption, they can thank their lucky stars.

In 2001, Kathleen Sullivan began the horrifying task of assembling and connecting the fragments representing a lifetime of repressed memories. Beginning in infancy, the acts she endured were unspeakable. Beginning with her parents, she was brainwashed, sexually programmed, and fragmented by various groups and agencies to do their will.

Aryan networks, the CIA and other government entities, as well as church sponsored groups contributed to her nightmare life. The goodness in her survived through subterfuge and trance-like states imposed by the author's strong will. The life created for her - and unnumbered others like her - lend new meaning to the word "terrorism."

The safety and trust most children know was denied her.

Pre set code words, sounds, or scenarios were used each time she was to participate in covert operations. Effectively compartmentalized rage was triggered for the darker deeds her handlers demanded of her. Carefully cultivated sexuality emerged when needed. And fear of death or harm to helpless children controlled any possible rebellion on her part.

When old memories emerge uncontrolled, and her healing process begins, Ms. Sullivan's life is in danger. She knows the identities of CIA operatives, handlers, and politicians who participated willingly in the programming process and operations. Instead of telling her story from behind a curtain of anonymity, she decides to expose the truth by standing strong, without disguises.

And Kathleen Sullivan does stand strong in Unshackled.

No punches are pulled and no harsh betrayals are softened. The most amazing thing of all is that she can still believe that - given the chance - goodness can triumph over evil.

The subject matter may be too graphic at times for young or sensitive readers. Trauma victims and people with Multiple Personality Disorder may be troubled by the content. Otherwise,  readers who suspect or believe that home grown terrorists can thrive within the confines of our country need to read this book.

Linda MacDonald RN, BN, MEd & Jeanne Sarson, RN, BScN, MEd - Persons Against Ritual Abuse-Torture (RAT)

Ten years ago we provided support to a woman exiting a ritual abuse-torture (RAT) family and group. At that time the social silence about the reality of RAT was deafening. Kathleen Sullivan is continuing to break this silence by speaking of the atrocities she experienced as an infant, child, youth, and vulnerable adult.  Her writings are an important contribution to a civil and human rights movement focused on developing a child friendly world.

Patty Rehn, US Contact for The Advocacy Committee for Human Experimentation Survivors (ACHES-MC)

Kathleen Sullivan makes the critical connection between the communications industry and the mind control projects.  Her ability to see through the pain and horror to the truth, the actual reasons behind the systematic abuse if children, is exceptional.  I highly recommend this book for those interested not only in what happened, but why.

Jackie McGauley, Affirming Children's Truth (ACT)

We all look for the purpose God gave us to be put on this earth.  Sometimes we come to find out that purpose.  If I have one thing to teach from my experience, it is that we must be knowledgeable so we don't continue to make the same mistakes and allow bad people to take advantage of us and our children.  The answer is there. Dig for truth and then share it.

Dr. Gregory Reid, DD, Occult Research and Crime Consultants

As a criminal justice trainer and consultant on cult crimes and crimes against children, one of the difficult tasks is coming to terms with the unacceptable evils that are done against little ones. One has a choice: ignore it and pretend it isn't real or face it and do something about it. The second way is more painful and difficult; but to do nothing is to let the evil flourish. Ms. Sullivan's book is a book that demands a response. Read it only if you are prepared to be responsible for the awful truth you will learn, and brave enough not to turn away.

Carol Rutz, author of A Nation Betrayed

Unshackled is a true saga of horror encompassing the brainwashing, programming and healing fight of one woman from birth to adult.  Ms. Sullivan shows true courage in detailing names, places, and methods used to torture her as a child into becoming a "Manchurian Candidate."  Her fight for survival and healing comes to live in such vivid detail that many will question how a government dedicated to protecting and serving its clients could justify such methods for "the Greater Good."

Gordon Thomas, author of Journey into Madness, Mindfield, Seeds of Fire, and Gideon's Spies: Mossad's Secret Warriors

There have been many books written about MKULTRA and its victims. But nothing quite like the impact that Unshackled will make on your psyche. It is written from not only the heart but from the inside. Here is what it was REALLY like to have been the victim of the grossest abuse committed by any American government. The indictment in these pages is a Paean to survival and a wake-up call. It MUST be read. And its stunning revelations must be acted upon - NOW.
