This section honors North American victims of forced enslavement.
Bleeding Heart - perennial. Small, drooping, pink heart-shaped flowers in summer. Planted in 2003.
Red Twig Dogwood - slender red branches. Planted in 1997 at the request of a survivor.
Russian Sage - perennial with green leaves. Stalks with small purple blossoms in summer. Planted in 2000.
Stella D'Oro Daylilies - donated by a grandmother of 28 victimized children. Some are still actively enslaved as adults. Dianthus - low-growing perennial. Brilliant small flowers in mid-spring and mid-summer. Planted in 1999.
Silver variegated liriope - ornamental grass also known as monkey grass. Narrow spires of light purple-blue blossoms in summer. Donated by a survivor in 1998.
Yellow variegated liriope - quickly spreading ornamental grass also known as monkey grass. Narrow spires of light purple blossoms in summer. Donated by a survivor in 1998.
Metallica Crispa Ajuga - aka bugleweed. Perennial ground cover. Wide, rounded purple-green leaves. Donated in 1998.
Wojo's Gem Vinca Major - fast-growing vine. Variegated green and yellow leaves. Donated in 2003 by a survivor.
Coral Bells - mid-sized perennial. Grows in cluster. Small pink blossoms throughout summer. Planted in 2005. Ebony Spleenwort - native plant. Slim, delicate fronds with black center. Elijah's Blue Festuca - thin, grey-blue ornamental grass. Grows in clump. Donated by a survivor in 1998 to honor child victims. Hosta Ventricosta - native plant. Dark green leaves. Lilac colored blossoms in early summer. Donated by a survivor in 1998. Variegated hosta - smaller hosta with variegated green-and-white leaves. Light purple blossoms in early summer. Donated by a survivor in 1998. Wild Geranium - native perennial. Light blue-purple blossoms in mid spring.
